About RTP
What is Detroit-style?
Detroit-style pizza has humble and hard-working beginnings, much like Red Top Pizza Shop. Detroit-style pizza is now known for its rectangular shape, focaccia-like crust, crispy cheese edges with a topping of pizza sauce. The legend goes that the first Detroit-style pizza got its shape from being baked in an oil pan by a Ford factory worker in Michigan.
While Tennessee is a little far from these origins, our pizza honors this OG style. We focus on the best ingredients, celebrate the classic flavors, and let the hard work show for itself in every bite.
And while we don’t bake in an oil pan, we do rely on our Lloyd pans (iykyk).
Who are we?
RTP is a family-owned and operated pizza pop-up based out of Maryville, TN, born out of a love for great pizza and great hospitality. Our chef has been slinging pizzas since 2008, and we think Red Top Pizza is his best slice yet.
All of our creations are homemade, from the sauce that tops every pizza to the dough which is perfected over multiple rises, to the Calabrian chili ranch that sells out every week (seriously, don’t miss the drop).
